Opta Stat Bolton have failed to score in five of their last seven Premier League games against Man City.
Bolton host Manchester City at the Reebok on Sunday in a North West derby and early top-of-the-table clash.
The Trotters go into the game on the back of a 4-0 opening day hammering of QPR, while City won by the same scoreline against Swansea at Eastlands on Monday.
Owen Coyle's men will be looking for revenge after Roberto Mancini's side won this corresponding fixture 2-0 on the final day of last season.
But it will be tough for the Trotters given they have not beaten their big-spending rivals since November 2008, although City have won only one of their last six league trips to the Reebok, failing to score in four of those games.
Bolton expect to have new signing Tuncay Sanli available for Sunday's clash.
The Turkey international, who has joined on a season-long loan from Wolfsburg, has been in Germany sorting out the paperwork on his work permit but it is expected to be processed in time.
Midfielder Ricardo Gardner will have a fitness test on Saturday on a groin injury but the Trotters will definitely be without Tyrone Mears and Lee Chung-yong, who both sustained broken legs during pre-season.
City boss Mancini has confirmed want-away striker Carlos Tevez is in contention to make his first appearance after returning to training.
Tevez's compatriot Sergio Aguero may be pushed into the starting line-up following his stunning debut against the Swans, notching a brace and providing an assist after coming on a substitute, while midfielder Nigel de Jong will be assessed after picking up a foot injury.
City are closing on a deal to bring in Samir Nasri but this game may come too soon for the current Arsenal star.
Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Cahill, Knight, Robinson, Eagles, Muamba, Reo-Coker, Petrov, Davies, Klasnic.
Man City: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Silva, Barry, De Jong, Toure, Dzeko, Aguero.
